Gail Bautista

Gail Bautista is a seasoned Program Manager and community advocate with a deep commitment to equity, sustainability, and public engagement. After her home was impacted by the 2017 Coyote Creek floods in San Jose, she joined the NSCRCD to raise awareness about local watershed resilience and environmental justice. At the Humane Society Silicon Valley, Gail leads community-based programs that bring veterinary care and pet support services directly to underserved neighborhoods, supportive housing sites, and encampments—working at the intersection of public health, housing stability, and animal welfare. She previously spent over 18 years at Google, where she developed nationally recognized workforce and diversity initiatives. Gail also serves on the Executive Committee of the California Hawaii State Conference of the NAACP and finds joy tending her community garden and connecting with neighbors through shared stewardship of the land.
Vice President Bautista was first appointed to the District's Board of Directors in December 2020. She was re-appointed to her seat in December 2024.
