Brian Schmidt has lived in the Bay Area since arriving in 1996 to attend Stanford Law School. An environmental lawyer with over 20 years' experience in policy development and policy advocacy, he has focused on issues revolving around water, open space protection, biodiversity, and climate change. Brian is a former director of the Santa Clara Valley Water District, the San Francisquito Creek Joint Powers Authority, and the Santa Clara Valley Habitat Agency. He is a current director of Mid-Peninsula Water District. He has served on staff and on the boards of multiple environmental non-profit organizations in the Bay Area.  (Pronoun: he)
