In 2014, the District commissioned wildlife photographer Greg Kerekes to produce a series of videos featuring Santa Clara County wildlife. The first one - The Gray Foxes of Silicon Valley - was released in February 2015, and featured then-Director Bill "The Fox Guy" Leikam, who has spent years researching the urban gray fox that inhabits the Palo Alto Baylands Nature Reserve. Our second video - The Return of California's Golden Beavers - featured then- Director Rick Lanman, a historical ecologist who helped establish that beavers are a native species in California. Check out our videos on the GCRCD YouTube channel, and prepare to be fascinated by the beautiful and intelligent wildlife living in the Silicon Valley.
